In 1990, Ahmad El-Maghchouch, the visionary founder of AYM Steels, ventured to Australia in search of a brighter future. With determination and passion, he commenced his entrepreneurial endeavours in the confines of his own garage. It was there that he meticulously crafted his first set of security windows and balustrades, steadily forging connections with local builders.
As time elapsed, the demand for AYM’s craftsmanship soared, surpassing the humble confines of Ahmad’s garage. Seizing the opportunity for expansion, he established his inaugural fabrication shop. During this period, Ahmad’s younger brother, Younes El-Maghchouch, also sought refuge in Australia, eagerly joining the family enterprise. Assuming responsibility for installations, Younes played an integral role while Ahmad continued to oversee the factory’s operations, becoming acquainted with the intricacies of the Australian steel industry.
AYM’s ascent to prominence was marked by a relentless pursuit of excellence in their workmanship. Recognizing untapped potential during periods of lull in fabrication, Ahmad ventured into the realm of steel trading, rapidly growing his inventory through astute acquisitions. As demand surged, the need for an expansive facility became undeniable, prompting AYM’s relocation once again.

Embarking on a daring endeavour, our visionary founder set forth to manufacture steel tubes locally within Australia. Although the journey was arduous, fraught with challenges, AYM Steel can now confidently proclaim itself as an Australian steel manufacturer, a testament to unwavering determination and resilience.
Today, AYM Steel continues its remarkable trajectory, with our esteemed headquarters and distribution centre nestled in Smithfield, NSW. Additionally, our state-of-the-art manufacturing and distribution branch thrives in Campbellfield, VIC.
